Welcome to the Shalbourne Village website! Find out what’s going on and get involved.
Shalbourne is a picturesque, winding village, set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with a pretty c12th church, many old and thatched houses (some c16th/c17th), a well-used village hall and a recreation ground with one of the most beautifully-positioned cricket pitches in England.
It’s a busy, thriving village, with a very strong community spirit. Village life revolves around The Plough, the shop, the enviable list of sports and social clubs and our many fund-raising events (including the May Fair, the famous Classic Car Show, choral concerts, the Barnstormer and last year’s Open Garden Day). We use most of these events not simply to socialise, but also to support each other and keep our village special.
So, whether it’s a tasting evening in the Village Hall, a Pilates class at Shalbourne Pavilion, a Burns Night dinner, a choral concert, a knees-up in an ancient barn or a quiet game of Boules on a summer’s evening - you’ll find it here.
